The Gut-Skin Connection

It baffles me that in this day and age we are still trying to treat long term skin problems with creams and lotions you put on your skin. Skin creams are really just a quick fix option and should be thought of as a remedy to help solve small, acute problems like a burn or a cut. If you really want to resolve chronic, long term skin problems such as eczema, psoriasis, acne and rosacea, the only way to do this is from the inside out.

Numerous scientific studies are identifying the strong links between the gut and the skin known as the 'Gut-Skin Axis'. Many different skin problems, mentioned above, can be linked to poor gut health. I often say to my clients that the skin and the gut are like two sides of a coin, if one is inflamed and aggravated it is likely the other is too.

Through Dutch and UK laboratories that I work with it is possible to carry out tests to look at your current gut health and identify possible contributors for your skin problems. This can be from dysbiosis (an imbalance) of the gut flora, a 'leaky gut' which is a compromised intestinal lining and infections from either bacteria, yeast or parasites which can all contribute to inflammation in the gut. If this is something you would like to explore further then please do get in touch to arrange a free 15 minute discovery call. Here is a link to my contact page.

For those of you that are interested in reading further on this subject I attach a link to a very interesting scientific paper from 2021 on the topic here:
